什么是国际文凭教育?

国际文凭组织的目标是培养勤学好问、知识渊博、富有爱心的年轻人,他们通过对多元文化的理解和尊重,为开创更美好、更和平的世界贡献力量。为了实现这个目标,国际文凭组织与众多的学校、政府以及其它国际组织进行合作,开发出一系列具有挑战性的国际教育项目和严格的评估制度。这些项目鼓励世界各地的学生成长为既积极进取又富有同情心的终身学习者,他们理解尽管人与人之间存在着差异,但他人的意见也可能是正确的。 国际文凭组织为3至19岁儿童和青少年提供的连续统一的,独特的,和严格的国际教育。它要求学生在学业和个人成长方面都做到出类拔萃。它的目标是激发学生终身学习的探索精神,并成为满怀热情和具有同理心的全面发展的人。国际文凭组织致力于帮助学校培养全面发展的学生。通过国际文凭项目学习的学生将以下品格:他们对自己的身份认同充满信心、做出合乎伦理的决定、能够以乐观的态度和开放的胸怀应对各种挑战、与他人一起弘扬我们共有的博爱精神、并能够把所学知识应用于现实世界的各种复杂和不可预测的情境当中。 国际文凭组织提供四个高质量的国际教育项目,只有得到国际文凭组织授权的学校才可以开设其中的一个或多个项目,包括小学项目(PYP),中学项目(MYP),大学预科项目(DP) ,和职业规划项目(CP)。这四个国际教育项目共享一个国际文凭的教育理念。国际文凭学习者将努力使自己成为探究者、知识渊博的人、思考者、交流者、坚持原则的人、胸襟开阔的人、懂得关爱的人、敢于冒风险的人、全面发展的人,和善于反思的人。

Breadth and Depth of Learning

In order to meet this mandate, we have fully embraced the IB’s open access policy; any student who is willing to make the commitment and dedicate themselves to the programme fully, is allowed to become an IB Diploma Candidate.

IBDP AT NOIC

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) curriculum is made up of three DP core elements and six subject groups.

The three core elements are:

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)

Theory of Knowledge (TOK), in which students reflect on the nature of knowledge and on how we know what we claim to know.

Extended Essay (EE)

Extended Essay (EE), which is an independent, self-directed piece of research, finishing with a 4,000-word paper.

Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)

Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), in which students complete experiential learning related to those three concepts.

The six subject groups
are:

Studies in language and literature

Sciences

Language acquisition

Mathematics

Individuals and societies

The arts

Requirements

Students choose courses from these six subject groups. Students will take some subjects at higher level (HL) and some at standard level (SL). Each student takes at least three (but not more than four) subjects at higher level, and the remaining at standard level. Standard level subjects take up 150 teaching hours. Higher level comprises 240 teaching hours.

The IBDP at NOIC offers following subjects:
Group 1: Chinese A;
Group 2 English B;
Group 3 Business Management;Economics;
Group 4: Physics;Chemistry;Computer Science;Biology;
Group 5: Mathematics;
Group 6: Visual Arts;
DP Core: TOK, CAS, and EE
*Students may choose subjects and levels according to their interests, targeted university majors, and Diploma requirements. The actual course offerings are contingent on the number of students choosing certain courses. For updated details, please consult the school directly.

Pre-IBDP

The pre-IB program is designed to assist students in their preparation for the rigorous requirements of IBDP. In addition to taking courses for Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), Pre-IB students at the NOIC will be provided with enriched learning opportunities that specifically align with IBDP requirements, including Time Management, Academic Research and Writing, and Pre-TOK. Upon successful completion of the Pre-IB Program, students will enter the formal two-year IBDP and OSSD dual diploma program at the NOIC.
